William Davenport, DVM
Dr. William Davenport opened Pinion Veterinary Hospital over 30 years ago. A graduate from Kansas State University, he chose Reno as his home and has been sharing his skills in diagnostics and surgery since he arrived. His passion and caring for your canine and feline family members is the foundation for the philosophy of high quality care and respect shared by all our staff members.
Jennifer Jackson, DVM
Doctor Jennifer Jackson is the next senior member of our staff at Pinion Animal Hospital. Originally from Oregon, she has had the distinction of being licensed as both a veterinary technician and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. This makes her uniquely qualified to mentor hospital staff and pet owners alike over a broader range of issues involving veterinary care and pet health.
Doctor Jackson has a vast experience in anesthesia and surgery, which greatly enhances our hospital's capabilities. She also has a special interest in exotic species and pocket pets and welcomes questions and visits from these special creatures.
She brings a vast range of pets with her, along with her husband and two children.
Tiffani Thomas, DVM
Dr. Tiffani Thomas was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She started her career in the veterinary field as a high school volunteer for the Loiusiana SPCA. After receiving her Bachelors degree in Biology from Xavier University, she was hired on a a veterinary assistant for the LA SPCA where she worked until her acceptance into veterinary school. She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 after completing her clinical year at Louisiana State University. Her interest include dentistry, nutrition, dermatology, and animal welfare. We are very excited to have her as part of our team. She has already developing a following Dr. Davenport's trust in her skill and caring attitude has allowed him to take a day or two off and he can now play volleyball a little bit longer during lunch
Amy and Madelynn are a team, when she is here her bright smile and cheerful attitude is a wonderful way to start the day. Amy is our dental care expert. Madelynn will sit and lift her own gums for Amy to brush her teeth nightly. Please ask her about any questions you have on tooth brushing technique and pet dental hygiene.
Head Tech/Licensed Veterinary Technician - In Training
Mariah an Oregon native, has lived in Reno since 1995. She lives with her fiance Tylar, and Two dogs Roxie and Gracie. Mariah has been with us since 2011. She is our head veterinary technician. She has worked with animals for over 10 years. Between studying hard for her license and working full time here you would think she would run out of energy. Never!! She is giving 100% of her focus and time to the pets. Always a grin and a laugh before she heads off in another direction. Her drive to learn new things that can help animals is a delight to watch and she will be a asset to our hospital for years. When she is not working here she works as a dog sitter/walker. Occasionally gets a day off and loves to be outdoors.
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Breanna is a Virginia City Native. She has been with us since 2013. As a part time licensed veterinary technician, Breanna brings care and skills in, surgical, dental, and emergency anesthesia. Additionally she can be found performing in-house laboratory work and procedures, x-rays, and checking in rooms. With Genuine kindness and proven knowledge, she strives to provide our clients with the best possible patient support each and every time. She also hold an associates degree in business. When she is not working you can find her on the yoga mat, behind the camera lens, or (as of recently) between a pair of headphones assisting in music production.
Sharon is a Southern California Native. she has been with us since 2006. She has been our Rock of Gibraltar for the invisible things that keep our front office running. The attention to detail in things unseen keep us operating and able to focus on pet care. She and her husband Floyd have 3 dogs, Alex, Nina and Milo (we call him Sig). Her skill in handling dogs is based on years of trials and competitions in the Shutzhund arena with her own dogs. When she is not working she enjoys hiking, but you bet she loves to hit the theater and catch up on the newest films.
Alina is originally a Russian native, moved to the United States as a small child, and moved to Reno in 2008. She started working with us in August 2016 as a veterinary assistant/animal caregiver. She plans to grow in the field but has yet set her sights on exactly what she wants to do in the future. She has a dog named Lola, a horse named Belle, and two cats, Mittens and Smudge. When Alina is not working you can find her at local horse events participating or behind the camera lens as she loves photography. She is also an avid ice skater and loves to spend time with her family at baseball games.
Jena has been with us for over year. Before she moved to Nevada, she lived in Pennsylvania, where she previously worked at a veterinary hospital. She worked full time in Pennsylvania doing animal husbandry and as a lab assistant. For fun, Jena likes to go outdoors hiking and camping in the desert. Her goals for the future are just to live a happy and healthy life wherever she may be or what she's doing!
Kaitlyn started with us in May 2017 as a veterinary assistant. She is currently in her 3rd year of college at UNR as a veterinary science major and music minor. She plans on applying for veterinary school in the coming year. When she isn't at school or work, she is practicing her clarinet or swing dancing!
Charlotte moved to Reno in 2003 from Corning, Ca. Charlotte lives here with her Fiancé Zach, Dog Milo and Cat Salem. She currently holds an associates degree in Applied Science. She will be attending T.M.C.C this fall for Veterinary Technology. When Charlotte is not working she enjoys planning her wedding, hiking with Milo, quality couch time with Salem watching Netflix and lastly studying for her new degree!!
Rebecca is originally from Adams, WI but has lived in Reno since 2013 with her husband Max and her dog Olie, a terrier who they adopted from the Humane Society. She has an Associates Degree from Globe University in Middleton, WI in Veterinary Technology. She has worked in the veterinary field since 2011 and loves the daily interaction with animals, clients, and co-workers. She plans to become licensed in Nevada with her LVT. In her free time Rebecca enjoys going to country music concerts and spending time in Downtown Reno during the Summer Festival season.
Lilly is a Nevada native. She started with us February 2018. She moved from the call service field as a resolution supervisor to the vet field 2 years ago. When she is not working the front desk she enjoys fishing, camping, and her horses.
