Meet The Staff

William Davenport, DVM

Dr. William Davenport opened Pinion Veterinary Hospital over 30 years ago. A graduate from Kansas State University, he chose Reno as his home and has been sharing his skills in diagnostics and surgery since he arrived. His passion and caring for your canine and feline family members is the foundation for the philosophy of high quality care and respect shared by all our staff members.


Jennifer Jackson, DVM

Doctor Jennifer Jackson is the next senior member of our staff at Pinion Animal Hospital.  Originally from Oregon, she has had the distinction of being licensed as both a veterinary technician and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. This makes her uniquely qualified to mentor hospital staff and pet owners alike over a broader range of issues involving veterinary care and pet health.

Doctor Jackson has a vast experience in anesthesia and surgery, which greatly enhances our hospital's capabilities. She also has a special interest in exotic species and pocket pets and welcomes questions and visits from these special creatures.

She brings a vast range of pets with her, along with her husband and two children.


Tiffani Thomas, DVM

Dr. Tiffani Thomas was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She started her career in the veterinary field as a high school volunteer for the Loiusiana SPCA.  After receiving her Bachelors degree in Biology from Xavier University, she was hired on a a veterinary assistant for the LA SPCA where she worked until her acceptance into veterinary school.  She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 after completing her clinical year at Louisiana State University.  Her interest include dentistry, nutrition, dermatology, and animal welfare.  We are very excited to have her as part of our team. She has already developed a following  Dr. Davenport's  trust in her skill and caring attitude has allowed him to take a day or two off and he can now play volleyball a little bit longer during lunch


Mariah Estes

Licensed Veterinary Technician in Training

Mariah an Oregon native, has lived in Reno since 1995. She lives with her husband Tylar, son, Colson, and two dogs Roxie and Gracie. Mariah has been with us since 2011. She has worked with animals for over 10 years. Between studying hard for her licensing, working, and raising a son, you would think she would run out of energy. Never!! She is giving 100% of her focus and time to the pets.  Always a grin and a laugh before she heads off in another direction. Her drive to learn new things that can help animals is a delight to watch and she will be a asset to our hospital for years. Occasionally gets a day off and loves to be outdoors.  


Breanna Prince

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Breanna is a Virginia City native. She has been with us since 2013. As a licensed veterinary technician, Breanna brings care and skills in surgical, dental, and emergency anesthesia. Additionally, she can be found performing in-house laboratory work and procedures, x-rays, and checking in rooms. With genuine kindness and proven knowledge, she strives to provide our clients with the best possible patient care each and every time. She also holds an associates degree in business. When she is not working you can find her on the yoga mat, behind the camera lens, crocheting, and will soon be learning how to make dog bow ties!!! 


Charlotte Hurbain

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Charlotte moved to Reno in 2003 from Corning, California. Charlotte lives here with her husband Zach, their dogs Milo & Finn, and their cat Salem. She currently holds an associates degree in Applied Science. She has just finished and become our newest LVT! When Charlotte is not working she enjoys hiking with Milo and quality time on the couch with Salem.


Ashley

Veterinary Assistant

Ashley was born in Connecticut and raised on Fishers Island in NY; she has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University.  Ashley has a traveler’s soul, she loves hiking and camping with her dog Hatchet.   Ashley has been working with animals for over 15 years and in the vet field since 2017.  Ashley is currently enrolled in the Vet Tech program through Penn Foster and has a strong interest in animal behavior and has worked as an unlicensed animal behaviorist.   She strongly believes in positive reinforcement and fear free techniques, she also loves pack training for Dogs. 


Lauren Schumann

Veterinary Assistant

Lauren is a Nevada native, who with her dog Tucker, loves to travel, hunt, fish, and go camping. She is currently attending the University of Nevada, Reno majoring in veterinary medicine with a minor in biology. After graduating in 2021, she plans on taking the veterinary technicians exam and then furthering her education to apply to veterinary school. Once in vet school, she aims to mainly focus on small animal medicine with a specialty in radiology. Once a doctor her plans of where she wants to subside or still unplanned, however, she knows that wherever she ends up she wants to manage her own hospital, as well as, an animal rescue on her land


 
 
 


Sharon Short

Reception

Sharon is a Southern California native. She has been with us since 2006. She has been our Rock of Gibraltar for the invisible things that keep our front office running. The attention to detail in things unseen keep us operating and able to focus on pet care. She and her husband Floyd have 2 dogs, Nina and Milo (we call him Sig). Her skill in handling dogs is based on years of trials and competitions in the Shutzhund arena with her own dogs. When she is not working she enjoys hiking, but you bet she loves to hit the theater and catch up on the newest films.


Amy Jensen

Reception

Amy, the golden girl, resides with her husband Tony, son Killian, her two golden retrievers Mallory and Moe, and a cat named Jeeves.  When she is here her bright smile and cheerful attitude is a wonderful way to start the day.  Amy is our dental care expert  Please ask her about any questions you have on tooth brushing technique and pet dental hygiene. 


Lilly Bergfield

Reception

Lilly is a Nevada native. She started with us February 2018. She moved from the call service field as a resolution supervisor to the vet field 2 years ago. When she is not working the front desk she enjoys fishing, camping, and her horses.


Kelsey Hilderbran

Licensed Veterinary Technician in Training

Kelsey is a Reno, Nevada native. She will be starting the TMCC veterinary technician program in August of 2019. She also holds an associates degree in science. Besides caring for animals, she has an unbreakable bond with her dog Lancer who she adopted in 2017. When she is not working she enjoys photography, going for long walks with Lancer, and listening to music. 


Lisa Harmer

Veterinary Assistant

Lisa was born and raised here in Reno and has been an animal lover her whole life. Lisa has superhero kitty powers, so she is known as the cat whisperer here at the hospital. She has been working in animal care for the last 10 years where the last 8 years she was the cat lead at the Humane Society. She recently decided to go into veterinary care and we are grateful she did!


Amanda Lemmon

Veterinary Assistant

Amanda was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, but she has been in Reno since 2001. She has attended the University of Kentucky and UNLV and plans to return one day. Amanda has a true passion for animals and their owners and has worked with animals most of her life. Amanda has a special bond with our clinic cat, Sebastian and takes him home on the weekends for slumber parties!


Jerrald Palma

Veterinary Assistant

Born and raised in the Central Valley of California, Jerrald has always held a passion for the animal kingdom. After graduating at Damonte Ranch High School, Jerrald became a certified veterinary assistant through Animal Behavior College and now proudly assists the staff and clientele of Pinion with a smile and a can-do attitude. He now lives happily in Reno with his cat, parrot and 3 dogs.


Tatyana Bullock

Veterinary Assistant

Tatyana was born and raised on a ranch in Moapa, NV, where she discovered her passion for caring for animals. While growing up, Tatyana raised and showed livestock at events all across the United States, and was very fortunate to bring home Champion titles. Now, Tatyana resides in Reno with her two ferrets, Boone and Beau. She is currently working hard on earning her bachelors degree in Animal Science and a minor in Biology at UNR. After she graduates, Tatyana aspires to become a licensed veterinary technician. When she isn’t working, Tatyana loves sewing, playing with her ferrets, and tending to her many many plants.


Ku'uipo Gonzales-Reyes

Veterinary Assistant

Ku'uipo, or Ku as she is commonly known for around the hospital, was born and raised on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. She is a senior at The University of Nevada, Reno dual majoring in veterinary science and biology. After graduating this May in 2021, Ku's goal is to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine to further her education in both small and large animals. When she is a doctor, she plans to return to her home in Hawaii and open a practice, where she can pay it forward to the place where she grew up and found her love for animals. When Ku is not working or in class, she enjoys making music with her guitar, playing basketball, cooking tasty meals, catching some z's, volunteering at Reno Riding Rescue, and so much more.
